Moment of Truth

This one came from my working-in-a-bank era.
I don't know the exact meaning of Moment of Truth,
but hopefully this story will explain it to you :

An employee always comes early in the morning. He comes to the office before everyone else.
He's doing great in his job, he may be the best employee of that company.
The best employee that the CEO haven't met, even haven't known yet.

One morning, for some reasons he comes late to the office.
And that morning, for other reasons, the CEO is  hanging out in the office's lobby
And the CEO finds out that he comes late, and calls him to approach.
The CEO asks his name and kind of angry, he doesn't want to hear the reasons.

From that moment, the CEO will always recall that employee as "The Late Employee" or "The Undiscipline Employee" etc.
That moment is moment of truth for the employee.
Too bad he's not looking good on his moment of truth.

So what is the moral of this story?

Moment of truth can come to you in any minute, any hour, any moment
You will never know
And it can be a good one or a bad one
So that's why we need to be constantly extra ordinary
And when we finally meet our moment of truth,
We'll have an extra ordinary one,,, :)

And the next challenge will be,,,,
How long can you be constantly extra ordinary? How strong are you?

Being Independent Is Not Good (?)

i took care of myself because i had to
there's no way i count on my parents anymore to pay my meals, my bills, my needs
that's why i work, took a job that sucks, make some money
to pay my meals, my bills and my needs
i make a decision by myself because i had to
who else will tell me what to do?
just do my best to survive this life,
and then people called me independent.

but somehow, from some point of view, being independent like that is not good
coz i don't seem to need anybody else
coz men will feel insecure and threatened around me

hadeuuuuu,,,,, rempong bener yak idup gw?
begini salah begitu salah
but i do not choose to be a common man
i'll live my life the way i wanted it to
not only to boost men's ego
coz either way, i'm still the one who have to pay my own meals, my own bills and my own needs
men, if you feel threatened by this, than you're not man enough for me

Buttermilk Fluffy Pancake

Tapi gw berniat untuk menjadi produktif, in any ways,,, hehehe,,,
Sounds ambitious,,,

And yes, it was fluffy and yummy,,,, ;)

Nah sepanjang bikin gw khawatir adonannya ga ngembang.
Soalnya di blognya, Mba Hesti wanti-wanti ga boleh terlalu lama ngaduknya, asal rata aja
Jadi gw usahain aduknya beneran cuma sampai rata aja.

Seperti halnya Mba Hesti, buttermilknya gw bikin sendiri dan cuma 1/2 resep.
Resep berikut adalah 1/2 resep yah, cukup buat 3 orang (kalo masing-masing makannya 2 pancake yah)

BAHAN :
1 cup tepung terigu protein sedang
1 sdt baking powder
1/2 sdt baking soda / soda kue
1/4 sdt garam halus
1 1/2 sdm gula pasir
1 butir telur ukuran besar, kocok lepas
150 ml buttermilk
(susu cair diberi perasan 2 sdm air jeruk nipis, diamkan 10 menit, karena gw punyanya jeruk lemon akhirnya gw ganti jeruk nipis dengan jeruk lemon)
2 sdm unsalted butter or any butter, lelehkan

CARA MEMBUAT :
1. Aduk rata semua bahan kering, lalu masukkan telur, susu cair, butter leleh, aduk dengan whisk asal rata, JANGAN terlalu lama
2. Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api sedang. Tuang 1 sendok sayur adonan (gw 2 sendok sayur untuk setiap pancake, abis sendok sayurnya kecil siiiy, hehehe,,,,). Biarkan berlubang-lubang dan pinggiran agak kering, sekitar 2 1/2 menit. Kalau terlalu lama bisa gosong booow,,,,
3. Balik adonan. Apabila sudah kuning kecoklatan angkat, sekitar 1 menit.
4. Sajikan hangat dengan butter or madu or es krim or sirup cokelat.

I Do Not Choose To Be A Common Man

It is my right to be uncommon—if I can.
I seek opportunity—not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.

I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole.
I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence;
the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid;
to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say, "This I have done."

- Dean Alfange -

** The poem was introduced to me when I was a trainee at a bank. To all my MDPers friends, this is a kindly reminder to you and myself, can we face the world boldly and say, "This I have done." ?
Miss you all guys,,,

kita disini refers to gw dan anak gaul kantor gw

The Little One

Her name is Meutia, and she's beloved daughter of Teh Nila and Harris.
She's a healthy and happy little girl, you can tell by a glance.
She smiles and laughs easily.
I met her for 3 days only, but already falling in love with her cuteness.
Look at her, isn't she as cute as a button?
The most amazing thing is to see the world through her eyes. How simple thing can be a great thing, just because she said "wooooow" with her eyes wide open. And when she asked you a simple question but you just don't know how to explain it to her. And when she asked you to follow her dancing, imitating the elephant, chicken, bird, train, etc. It kinda change my perspective. You see the world through the eyes of 2.5 year old girl, and it looks brighter and more beautiful. You see the good things, the playground and the adventure. The world becomes a better place.

Aamiin,,,

2012 New Year's Eve

Teh Nila & me
Well helloooo 2012,,,
We finally met! ;)
All of best wishes through out the year .
And this is my first blog for 2012, hopefully I can be more productive and proactive in writing and sharing.

I spent the new year's eve in Kuala Lumpur (KL), just because I need to see a dearest friend, someone who knew me well and I haven't met for a long time, Teh Nila. We were together as MDPers of PermataBank and house mates in Wisma Anggrek. To make the long story short, she's married and followed her husband to KL. I'll try to summarize my trip there,,,

THE REASON
I need vacation so bad. Some place to get away, to clear up and refresh my mind. After a crazy working year, after those weeks of overtime preparing SMI certification. And knowing that 2012 will be a crazier year, it's the right time to have vacation and having a lot of fun.

THE DESTINATION & AIRPLANE TICKETS
So I decided to have vacation to KL, and meet up with Teh Nila. I actually flew to KL with Air Asia, the best low cost airplane in Asia. But I got my tickets in last minutes so I got it in a veeeerrrryyyyyy expensive price. D*mn! But Sari said, consider it as a reward to myself. It's not that expensive if it's compared to my hardwork. Preett! :D But thank's Sari, I've chosen to listen to your advice.

THE PREPARATION
Now, considering I should pay a lot for the tickets, I decided not to have a checked-in-baggage, cause I have to pay an extra money for that. So I have to travelling light, only bring a small suitcase and keep it in cabin. It also means I can't bring a lot of stuffs and can't shop a lot. Well, I'm not in a mood to shop anyway. Surprisingly, I can do that! Oh wooow,,, my suitcase was only half-full when I departed to KL. And of course it's full when I got back,,, eheheheh,,,
Teh Nila said that she couldn't pick me up at the airport so I had to figure out the transportation from LCCT to her condo in KLCC. Thank's to her advice and Google, I found the schedule, route and fare from LCCT to KLCC.

THE DEPARTURE DAY
Here comes the long travelling day from Cepu to KL... On December 31st, 2011, I woke up really early in the morning just to catch the first train to Pasar Turi Surabaya, KA Cepu Ekspress at 4.55 am. It costs Rp 25.000,-  only, but comfy. The flight from Surabaya to KL took 2.5 hours and it.was.scaryyyyy!! A passenger's cellphone was on during the flight, because it rang 30 minutes before we landed. Oh my,,,,,
Alhamdulillah we finally landed safely,,, From LCCT I took Skybus to KL Sentral, only RM 9 and about an hour away, and then from KL Sentral I took LRT to KLCC station, only RM 1.6 and 20 minutes away. And Teh Nila picked me up at KLCC station, walking about 5 minutes to her condo, which is located right behind the KLCC station. It was 6 pm already,,, what a day,,,

THE NEW YEAR'S EVE
The fireworks was awesome! Went to KLCC park with Teh Nila and Rita (her sister in law) and tried to blend in with the crowd,,,

Overall, this trip was fun. Mostly because of Teh Nila and her family. We've got a lot of things to catch up. We talked about the past, present and future. Our hopes, challenges, feelings, sadness, and happiness.

Although a lot of things going on around you lately, you look happy Teh,,,, It's good to see you happy, cause you're a good and fun person to be with and you deserve all the happiness,,,, :)

Till we meet again dearest Teh Nila,,,,
